
MÓNICA BERGNA
Monica's early experience as a librarian, first in France and later in Venezuela, motivated her to leave behind her architectural studies to dedicate her life to conceptualizing and publishing books.

After working at Ekaré editions, she became an editor at Ediciones Tecolote, where she has worked for over 19 years. Winner of the prestigious New Horizons Award at the Bologna Book Fair with The Black Book of Colors, recognized for her editorial work by White Ravens and twice included on the IBBY honor list. Currently Monica runs her own publishing house, Alboroto Ediciones. In 2020, Alboroto won the Bologna Book Fair Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of Central and South America.
