Jorge Alderete, aka Dr. Alderete, is a graphic artist, illustrator, author, designer, cultural manager, musician, and sometimes photographer. He was born in the Argentine Patagonia in 1971 and has lived in Mexico since 1998. He is co-founder of Vertigo Gallery. He plays the theremin and draws live with Sonido Gallo Negro. Since 2015 he has been a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale).
His work has been published in several specialized anthologies such as Illustration Now! and Latin American Graphic Design (Taschen) where they say: "Jorge Alderete is one of the most emblematic artists in Latin America."
He is also a beneficiary of the National System of Creators of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts in Mexico (FONCA), 2018.
